This year a Valentines Day luncheon will be just the ticket.
February 14th happens to fall on my weekly bridge game.
So in addition to playing bridge we will also celebrate Valentines Day.
For the first time I have used my Allertons whiteware for the Valentines table. You can read about it here.
I thought it looked very appropriate for the occasion.
And I love that right now I can find all kinds of tulips.
They are such happy flowers to me.
I like them draped over the side of the vase in most of my arrangements.
To get this effect I refrigerate them, but not in water, for 12 hours.
Cut the stems and then add them to the vase full of warm water. they droop just perfectly for the look I want.
If you want the tulips to last more than two or three days do NOT use that method. It does make them short lived.
I found some great colored beads that went with the theme, and colors of the day, so I hung them from the chandelier, and the backs of the chairs.
The pink and red hearts scattered around the table just add some color to the white background.
I’m thinking maybe a red velvet cake for dessert.
Or do you think that’s too much?
I am really looking forward to bridge next week.
I did have trouble this time trying to remove the wrinkles from the tablecloth.
I even used wrinkle release to no avail.
Does anyone else have this problem? I used to have my dry cleaner roll my tablecloths for storage and they did so much better.
Unfortunately he does not do this anymore and they come back folded over a large hanger…hence wrinkles 🙁
Any advice would be welcome !
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day !!
With Easter just around the corner, we are ready to say hello to…
Is there anything better than waking Christmas morning and having a colorful inviting…
